5 Factors to Determine If You Are in the Right Relationship

5 Factors to Determine If You Are in the Right Relationship

Paul Lindquist

Is there a way to determine if you are in the right relationship? Did you make an error by reconciling with your ex, but you're not yet aware of it? Many times following a separation, you are lonely and all you want is to get back with your ex. Then, after you are back with them, you start to wonder if you are in the right relationship.

Since you can't predict the future, there's no way of knowing for sure that this person is best for you in the long run. You can, however, figure out if you are in the right relationship right now.

This may or may not translate into long-term relational success, but at least you can know if you are currently in the right place.

The following questions will help you decide if you are in the right relationship at this time:

1. Does your partner make you happy? This is not to say that you need to be jumping for joy every five seconds, but are you generally content when you are around this person? If you can answer yes to this question, that is a good first step.

2. When feelings of sadness or doubt come up, what triggers them? Is it more because of your desire to be with someone else, or is it because of anxiety that you may lose the person you are currently with?  If your doubt and sadness is connected to feelings of anxiety about losing the one you are with, this is another good sign that you are in the right relationship. If you often feel sadness and doubt because you are preoccupied with someone else, then you may need to re-think the relationship you are currently in.

3. Do you have a general feeling of safety with your partner in this relationship? In other words, are you certain that your partner would never harm you either physically or emotionally? Also, do you feel safe in the overall relationship-that you don't need to constantly worry about a break up?

It is important that you feel reasonably safe in your relationship. Of course, we can never know for sure what other people will do in any given situation, but you should know your partner well enough to be able to trust that he/she will not hurt you. Otherwise, you need to again question if you are in the right relationship.

4. Along these same lines, do you trust your partner not to cheat on you? This is a big one. Cheating is obviously one of the greatest killers of relationships. Do you find yourself constantly worried about your partner cheating, or do you feel secure that he/she is fully committed to you alone?

If you do worry a lot about your partner cheating when they are apart from you, this is clearly a problem. What you need to figure out is if your lack of trust in this area is well-founded, or do you just worry too much because you love him/her and are afraid of a break up?

If you find that your partner has never done or said anything that should make you suspicious, but you still worry a lot about them cheating, you need to try very hard to correct this behavior. It is likely that you are in the right relationship, but your unfounded worries about cheating will cause needless problems down the road, so you best deal with them now.

5. The final factor to determine if you are in the right relationship is;does your partner make you feel special?  What are his/her priorities? Would he/she rather spend time with you, or his/her friends? When your partner is with you, is he/she paying attention to you, or is his/her mind somewhere else? You should be his/her priority in this relationship. If that is currently not the case, then you need to find out why and address this issue.

So, if you can answer yes to these five questions, you are likely in a very good relationship. Though you may have doubts at times, and your situation may change through the course of time, it is safe to say that you are in the right relationship at this time.

Fruit Health Benefits

Fruit Health Benefits

Robert N. Perry

With many western diets revolving around high fat junk foods, fruit health benefits are not something that should be ignored. Consuming plenty of fruit in your diet is an excellent way of staying healthy and reducing your chances of developing a life threatening illness.

Fruit health benefits are enormous. Most fruits are packed full of vitamins, minerals, and other naturally occurring nutrients. By making sure we eat enough fruit as part of a healthy diet, we are equipping our bodies with the armor to withstand the daily bombardment of toxins from pollution. Fruit can also provide the necessary nutrients to help us deal with the stresses of modern life.

Many scientific studies have proven that people who choose to include more fruit in their diet are less likely to develop serious health problems such as coronary heart disease, cancer, Alzheimer's, and diabetes-all of which are endemic in the modern world. But as well as acting as a preventative aid against serious illness, fruits also contains nutrients which help the body to fight infection and repair cell damage.

As well as vitamins and minerals, fruit contains antioxidants which are very important in the fight against serious diseases like cancer. Antioxidants work by preventing free radicals from attacking the body. These so-called free radicals are responsible for damaging cells, which can trigger many diseases including heart disease and Alzheimer's. Free radical production can be caused by many factors including pollution, alcohol, and cigarette smoke. By eating enough fruit, we can help to prevent free radicals causing cell damage.

Fruit also contains plenty of fibre, which is very important for keeping the human digestive system working properly. A diet packed full of fruit can help the body to efficiently expel waste products, which includes the toxins that can lead to colon and bowel cancer.

Eating at least five portions of fruit per day is far better than taking diet supplements. It is also a much tastier option. There are plenty of varieties of fruit to choose from and most supermarkets stock lots of tasty exotic fruits as well as the more familiar fruits we are used to.

As well as the many fruit health benefits, incorporating enough fruit into your diet is a great way to lose weight. Fruits are full of fibre which helps the body to feel full after a meal. This stops snacking, which is the downfall of many diets based on restricted calories. Because fruit is so healthy, you can eat as much of it as you wish without consuming too many calories. Instead of snacking on chips or candy between meals, you can try eating a piece of fruit instead. Not only is this a much healthier alternative, it will also help to control any insidious cravings for sugary snacks.

Although fresh fruit is preferable, any type of fruit will do. You can try dried fruit, tinned fruit, or fruit juice. It is easy to make fruit an enjoyable part of your diet and by increasing the amount of fruit you eat in your daily diet, you will soon see what a difference fruit health benefits can make.

If you are not a fruit lover you should be. Our website has a wealth of information on many different species of fruit, their health benefits and even some very great recipes.

10 Tips to Drink More Water

10 Tips to Drink More Water

Brooke Lorren

Water is an essential component of life. Whether you are trying to lose weight, or are just trying to be healthy, it is important to drink enough. Unfortunately, most of us do not get enough to drink. We are supposed to drink half our weight (in pounds) in ounces per day. While many believe that eight 8-oz glasses of water is enough, that is only true if we weigh 128 pounds or less. A 200-pound person would need to drink 100 ounces (or slightly more than three 32-oz glasses) of water a day. On hot days, or if we drink caffeine, we might need more. Juice, alcohol, soda, coffee and tea don't cut it; we need water. So how do we drink the daily amount that we need? Here are some tips:

Put your water into larger glasses. If you're thirsty and you have a large glass of water in front of you, you just might drink it all. Pick a cup that is large, but not so large that you won't want to drink out of it. A 32-oz bottle works for me; others may find that 16, 20, or even 64 ounce bottles work better for them.
Purchase a water cooler, or use a water delivery service. If you have a water cooler in your house, it's a lot more convenient to drink more water, because there's always cold, filtered water available. I prefer buying the water cooler and filling up 3-gallon jugs myself, as it saves money over water delivery, but others may like the convenience of having it brought to their door.
Drink water when you wake up. It's common to be thirsty when you wake up; drink a glass as part of your morning routine.
Take water with you. Most cars have cup holders; when you get in the car, take a water bottle with you.
Find water that you like the taste of. If you don't like the taste of the water that comes from your tap, use a filtration system, or buy it from the store. If you're concerned about the environment, you can purchase it out of a machine that dispenses water and use your own reusable bottles.
Drink before a meal. Water acts as an appetite suppressant; if you drink some before your meal, you may end up eating less.
Try putting lemon slices in your glass. It might be easier to drink if it has a little flavor.
Drink water instead of soda. If you're used to drinking a lot of soda, you might want to try substituting your soda with healthy liquid refreshment. You might want the soda later, but start out with something that's healthy.
Don't try to drink your daily allotment all at once. You don't have to drink all of your liquid at one time; in fact, it's better for you to drink throughout the day. Spread out your hydration throughout the day, and it will be easier to drink.
Don't get discouraged if it's difficult at first. It may be difficult to drink all the liquid that you need at first, but don't give up. Drink what you can, and eventually you will be able to get more into your life.

Drinking water is a healthy thing to do. Proper hydration helps with weight loss and helps you digest food. Some believe that drinking enough can even help prevent headaches and other aches and pains, asthma, and high blood pressure! We all know that it brings health benefits, but you have to drink it for it to work.

What is the Benefit of Water For Weight Loss?

What is the Benefit of Water For Weight Loss?

Michele T.

Can water help you to lose weight? I believe so.

Our bodies send out hunger signals when we are thirsty, or when our bodies' water supply needs replenishing. All food contains liquid to varying degrees, so if you are confusing thirst with hunger and reaching out for things like muffins and cakes instead of a glass of water, you will end up eating more to satisfy your body's thirst, and that will lead to weight gain.

If in doubt, drink a glass of water first.

Water also helps to flush your system out, and plays a vital part in preventing constipation; it also hydrates your skin and increases your metabolism.

So how much water should you drink?

The eight glasses a day theory has no real scientific base - it was probably meant as a good starting point, as each person's requirements depends on body weight, activity levels and where you live. Here is a formula though, that will give you a good estimate on how much to drink:

Take your body weight and divide it by 16, and you will know how many 8 ounce glasses of water you should drink. For example : If you are 160lbs, you should drink 160÷16 = 10 (8 ounce) glasses of water per day.

When is a good time to drink water?

* First thing in the morning, drink at least 2 glasses of water in one straight go. Build it up to 3 glasses if you can. This will really kick start your metabolism and flush your system out.
* 15 - 30 minutes before a meal. Drink a big glass of water before eating and it will help curb the confusing signals your body sends out when it is thirsty. The result will be that you will eat less too.
* Try and drink a glass of water every two hours after meals. For example, if you finish lunch at 2:00pm, drink a glass of water at 4:00pm, then another at 6:00pm.

If you do sports, you should also make sure your body is adequately hydrated at all times. (If you have any medical conditions, taking certain types of medication or pregnant, consult your doctor).

Now another benefit of water is to actually get into it.

Yes, swimming and aqua-aerobics is perfect for weight loss. You do not hurt your joints, your muscles work against natural resistance and you can build up your heart rate doing laps.

So drink it, but also get into it. It truly benefits your body both inside and out.

Pure water is the best drink for our bodies. Often times, it is the simplest things that are the best for us. Visit my blog at http://www.101HealthandFitness.com and download a fun weight loss report written by my two dogs:
